Over 89 square kilometers, the green land area covers the region southeast to G1503 Shanghai Ring Expressway, north to Dazhi Stream, west to Hulu Expressway-Liufeng Highway.

The green land area plans to create two composite functional areas: Datuan and Situan. Mainly for the residential function, it will protect the ecological baseline, control the scale of development to provide residential facilities for surrounding areas, and solve the resettlement problems of farmers in surrounding areas. It also plans to create a high-quality community with a beautiful environment and supporting facilities to promote the construction of a 15-minute community life circle and life services. 

Datuan community will be dedicated to fostering the characteristic tourism industry based on the protection of ancient villages, while Situan Community will reduce the amount of inefficient northern industrial lands. In addition, it will improve the service level of urban and rural public transport networks to strengthen efficient external connections, highlight reparation, create a flat network of characteristic town roads, and protect scattered forests and agricultural fields to create an agroforestry system. It will create beautiful landscapes around Datuan and Situan, by retaining original villages along Pudong Canal and Nanlu Highway and protect villages with good features such as Situan Shicun village and Datuan Zhaoqiao village.
