Nanhui new town – the main urban area of the Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai city – has set out its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) goals, in order to reach development and achievement targets by 2025 in its planning and construction.

A promotions activity – with the theme of "Focusing on the 14th Five-Year Plan and entering Nanhui new town" – was held by the Dishui Lake in Lin-gang on Sept 29, according to local media.

Among those attending were consul generals, deputy consul generals and diplomats from Belarus, Switzerland, Finland, Mexico, Singapore, Canada and other countries stationed in Shanghai. There were also representatives present from local companies and industrial parks in Shanghai.

Yuan Guohua, chairman of Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group) Co Ltd, said Lin-gang has to date signed up more than 700 projects, with an aggregate investment of more than 430 billion yuan ($66.7 billion). It has also successfully applied for the creation of five new municipal level industrial parks.

Over the next five years, plans are for Nanhui new town to further promote its openness and internationalization. It will open up at a high level and on all fronts and integrate reform systems at a deeper level. Plans are also for it to create a world-class business environment and attract high-quality international resources.
