A random interview of folks on the streets in the Lin-gang Special Area, in East China's Shanghai, found that local residents and visitors spoke highly of the transportation services during the recent eight-day national holiday.

Sightseeing buses was scheduled to stop at all tourist destinations around Dishui Lake, such as the No 1 Pier, Tuling Square and Children's Paradise.

One woman, in particular, gave the thumbs-up to the bus service – pointing out that it made her parent-child travel much more convenient.

Another respondent, a senior citizen from outside town, was equally enthusiastic. "I'm a visitor from Qingdao," he said. "During the holiday, there were many people around Dishui Lake, but there was no traffic congestion and it was very convenient to travel here".

He added: "For first-time visitors to Dishui Lake, the sightseeing line is definitely a recommended tour route!"

In addition to the sightseeing buses, Lin-gang offers multiple choices for passengers, including intelligent connected and hydrogen-powered vehicles, as well as customized shuttle buses.

According to local authorities, such bus services will be further optimized through adding more stops and shifts, minimizing waiting times and improving links between scenic spots.

More efforts will also be made to upgrade the public transportation system – so as to provide locals and tourists with wide-ranging and high-grade services.
