The opening ceremony of the exhibition area of the 2023 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season, themed "Beautiful New City, Green Life", was held at the No 1 campsite of Chunhua Qiuse Park in Nanhui New Town of Shanghai's Pudong district on Sept 24.

Since its inception in 2015, the biennial art season has been dedicated to promoting and showcasing the high-quality development achievements of Shanghai's urban construction.

The Nanhui New Town exhibition area, one of the six key exhibition areas for this year's art season, is an important platform for showcasing the implementation of the people-oriented urban concept in Nanhui and accelerating the construction of an ecological civilization.

Nanhui New Town has in recent years responded to Shanghai's development philosophy of "fostering the city through culture and building the city through art" and promoted a harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

It is now a popular eco-leisure and seaside tourism destination in Shanghai that receives around 5 million visitors every year.
