Shanghai is gearing up for the highly anticipated Shanghai Tourism Festival, which will take place from Sept 16 to Oct 6.

One of the major highlights of the festival is the float parade, which will make its way through the city.

This year's floats feature a combination of traditional craftsmanship and digital technology. By scanning the floats using their smartphones, citizens and tourists will be able to view cultural and tourism information, images of scenic spots and various kinds of digital effects.

The official float parade for the Shanghai Tourism Festival opening ceremony will take place on Sept 16.

Following that, the floats will be displayed in various districts of Shanghai from Sept 17 to Sept 27.

The float parade at Dishui Lake in the Lin-gang Special Area will be held on Sept 27 from 18:30 to 18:45.

The parade will commence at South Island and move in a clockwise direction towards North Island, providing spectators with an enchanting display of creativity and artistry.

After the float parade, the floats will remain on display around the Dishui Lake from Sept 28 to Oct 6.

Visitors will have the opportunity to admire these floats in the evenings from 18:30 to 21:00 from Sept 28 to Oct 5, and from 18:30 to 20:00 on Oct 6.
