Boasting two campuses located in Shanghai's Minhang and Putuo districts, the East China Normal University (ECNU) has plans in place to establish its third campus in the Lin-gang Special Area.

According to the solicitation announcement for the campus' overall planning and architectural concept scheme, the total area that the Lin-gang New Campus will cover is about 36 hectares, of which 34.5 ha is for the campus and the rest is for supporting apartments.

On June 18 this year, the Dishu Lake International Software Engineering Institute (DISEI) was established in the Lin-gang Special Area, a collaborative effort of ECNU, the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, and the Shanghai Harbour City Development (Group) Co Ltd.

During the establishment ceremony for the DISEI, the Lin-gang Special Area Administration and ECNU signed a preliminary agreement to develop the Lin-gang New Campus.

According to the agreement, the two parties will introduce disciplines and majors closely related to the industries in Lin-gang, such as biomedicine and aerospace information, aiming to attract talent from home and abroad and engage in international collaborative innovation.
