The fourth phase will comprise several buildings, including a marine information engineering building, an aquatic biology research building, and student apartments.

The total construction area for the fourth phase is 79,000 square meters. It is expected to be completed by December 2025.

Shanghai Ocean University moved its main operations to the Lin-gang Special Area in 2008. The campus in the Lin-gang Special Area is expected to span 544,000 square meters by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).

The Lin-gang campus will focus on enhancing research and education in marine-related fields, and promoting regional development and collaboration in the marine sector.
