2026 World Laureates Forum to open in Lin-gang this month
The 2026 World Laureates Forum will be held in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area from Oct 30 to Nov 1 under the theme "New Science Paradigm: Break Through for the Next Decade".
At the opening ceremony and main forum, five World Laureates Foundation (WLF) Prize laureates, including Shao Feng, the award's first Chinese recipient, and six winners of the inaugural WLF Prize for Young Scientists, will take the stage to receive their honors. They will be joined by leading scientists to deliver keynote speeches, exploring how scientific paradigms could evolve over the next decade.

The six parallel forums will focus on emerging and future industries, from future semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine to aerospace information, future energy, and quantum science. Meanwhile, four thematic activities will be dedicated to young scientists, female scientists, future scientists, and top incubators, respectively.
At the closing ceremony, the forum will unveil its key outcomes and launch the global nomination process for the 2027 WLF Prize. It will also launch an international cooperation initiative, further evolving the forum from an annual academic gathering into a standing platform for international science and technology cooperation.
