Lin-gang Special Area enhances international legal services with circuit trial station
The Shanghai International Commercial Court officially inaugurated a circuit trial station in the city's Lin-gang Special Area on Aug 29.
During the ceremony, five key institutions — the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, Shanghai International Commercial Court, Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shanghai International Arbitration Center), Shanghai Eastern International Commercial Mediation Center, and Lin-gang Notary Office — signed an agreement to improve the international commercial dispute resolution mechanism in Lin-gang.
The agreement aims to foster closer cooperation in dispute resolution method evaluation, litigation-arbitration-mediation procedural linkage, and coordination among various dispute resolution entities. The goal is to create a more efficient and convenient one-stop international commercial dispute resolution platform, further elevating the international legal services in the new area.
Additionally, the Shanghai International Commercial Court released a report on international commercial disputes involving Lin-gang enterprises. The report provides an in-depth analysis of 1,597 cases from 2019 to 2025, focusing on disputes in key industries such as integrated circuits, biopharmaceuticals, shipping logistics, and the digital economy. It offers 12 specific suggestions for collaborative governance, addressing major legal risks throughout the enterprise lifecycle.
The circuit trial station's key advantage lies in bringing judicial services directly to businesses, reducing time and costs associated with litigation.
Looking ahead, the Shanghai International Commercial Court will regularly visit Lin-gang, providing tailored international legal services to support the development of key industries in the area.
