Located in the core area near Dishui Lake, the Global Maritime Service Hub in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area connects key shipping hubs in the city, including Yangshan Deep-Water Port, Shanghai Nangang Terminal, and Pudong International Airport.

The pioneering service hub integrates government affairs processing, corporate services, research into green shipping standards, the promotion of digital shipping technology, and the training of international shipping talent.

Under the guidance of the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, the hub was launched in June 2024. Within just one year, it attracted 14 upstream and downstream shipping companies, including COSCO Shipping Technology Co Ltd and V.Crew (Shanghai) Limited, a global crew management solution provider.

On May 29, a new management system that facilitates multimodal transport across the Yangtze River Economic Belt was put into use at the hub. Leveraging Lin-gang's location and policy advantages as well as the maritime administrative service windows, the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration realized one-stop processing of administrative services, enhancing efficiency and reducing the cost of transportation in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The Global Maritime Service Hub is also a strong driver in promoting the digital, intelligent and green transformation of the shipping industry.

China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) Co Ltd made history by successfully completing the country's first fully digital bonded bunker fuel delivery at Shanghai Yangshan Port on April 1 this year.

In January 2025, a subsidiary of Shanghai Port Group launched an ultra-long-distance control center in the hub, enabling remote control of container loading and distribution at the unmanned terminal of Yangshan Port.

The Lin-gang base of a national key laboratory focusing on chemical engineering and low-carbon technology, jointly built by the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, East China University of Science and Technology, and Shanghai CEO Environmental Protection Technology Co Ltd, has become an important example for the R&D and application of green methanol fuel in the shipping industry.
