Chinese enterprises eye global expansion at Lin-gang conference
The 2025 Chinese Companies High-level "Going Global" Conference was held on March 21 in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area. Over 1,000 people attended the conference, including government officials, members of service institutions, and nearly 40 representatives from some 30 consulates general in Shanghai.
At the conference, the Lin-gang Special Area Foreign Affairs Center was unveiled and 20 major service institutions aimed at helping enterprises expand abroad signed agreements to set up operations. A set of specifications was also released to improve and standardize various procedures needed for expanding overseas. Meanwhile, the establishment of 13 national service substations and 24 overseas liaison stations to help Lin-gang enterprises venture overseas was announced.

The measures indicate that the Lin-gang Special Area will build a comprehensive and multi-level overseas service system to help Chinese enterprises integrate into the global industrial chain.
Lin-gang Special Area has been focused on offering comprehensive support for Chinese-funded enterprises looking to invest and develop overseas by means of setting up service organizations and digital service platforms. To date, over 300 service institutions have set up operations in the Lingang Special Area "Going Global" Comprehensive Service Platform, and an increasing number of companies are engaging in international operations.
