On the first day of 2025, amidst the scenic shores of Dishui Lake in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area, thousands of runners gathered at Turing Square to welcome the magnificent sunrise. At the sound of the starting pistol, the 2025 Dishui Lake New Year Run, part of the 2025 New Year Celebration Carnival, officially kicked off.

Nearly 3,000 people participated, getting the new year off to a running start. Zhong Tianshi, the cycling champion at the Tokyo Olympics, made a special appearance at the event.

The New Year Run, a well-known event in Shanghai, has been held every New Year's Day since its establishment in 2016 and has become an important way to welcome the new year in the Yangtze River Delta region and beyond. Its organizers have continuously optimized and innovated services, and after eight years of development, the event has become well-known among locals.

At this year's event, in addition to Zhong's special appearance, there was also an increase in collaboration with sports brands and media.
