A cargo ship carrying a full container of alpaca wool toys produced in Peru berthed at the Yangshan Deep-water Port in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area on Oct 11. The toys are the second batch of exhibits for the upcoming seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) to enter China via Yangshan Port this year, following South African avocados.

The Yangshan Border Inspection Station and other port inspection units worked with related port and shipping enterprises, established a green channel for transportation, customs clearance, unloading, and transit, ensuring the CIIE exhibits can reach the venue as soon as possible.

Alpaca wool toys are unique due to the rare materials used to make them. Since Peru brought them to the inaugural CIIE in 2018, the annual expo has come to be viewed by businesses as a crucial platform for showcasing new products, as demand for the toys has increased in China.

According to the Yangshan Border Inspection Station, the port sees an increase in traffic due to CIIE exhibits from various countries and regions every mid-to-late October. The station's Deputy Director Zhou Jiajie stated that their work is to maintain a safe, stable, and smooth customs clearance process, ensuring the efficient entry of exhibits before the CIIE and the timely fulfillment of various orders after the expo.
