First Tour of Shanghai cycling race concludes in Lin-gang Special Area
After three days of competition, the Tour of Shanghai · New Cities 2024 cycling race concluded in Nanhui New Town, located in the Lin-gang Special Area of Shanghai, on Sept 22. Twenty high-level teams from across the world offered an impressive cycling spectacle on the urban tracks of the city's five new towns over the course of three days.

Martin Laas, a member of a Mongolian team, was the top winner, winning both the individual overall championship and the sprint king titles, while Sun Wentao from China won the title of best Asian cyclist.
For the contestants, such an event is not only a prestigious competition, but also a chance to explore Shanghai's natural and cultural landscapes. Before and after the event, the hosts organized cultural experience activities such as martial arts stunt shows, steamed bun-making and waterside scenery-viewing. Many cyclists participated in the activities and discovered the charm of Shanghai.
After the third stage on Sept 22, a 38-kilometer cycling event open to everyone was held by Dishui Lake in the Lin-gang Special Area. Riders gathered to experience the joy of cycling.
