The Argentina Imported Commodity Bonded Exhibition and Trade Center was inaugurated in the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone on May 27, solidifying Lin-gang's position as a crucial gateway for Argentine companies seeking entry into the Chinese market.

Operated by the Argentina Investment and Trade Promotion Bureau, the Argentine Embassy in China, and the Argentine Consulate General in Shanghai, the center offers a comprehensive range of services, including goods display, brand promotion, product distribution, e-commerce sales, and trade facilitation.

This initiative enables Argentine beef companies to directly export meat to the Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone, engage in bonded processing and manufacturing activities within the zone, and conduct bonded display trading, thus streamlining their trade operations.

During the unveiling ceremony, Jorge Grimberg, the president of the Argentine Beef Association, alongside representatives from more than 30 Argentine beef companies such as Frimsa, Arrebeef, Compania Bernal, and Frigorifico General Pico, witnessed the successful completion of the center’s first bonded display trade deal.

Argentina, as the third-largest economy in Latin America and a member of both the South American Union and G20, holds a significant position as a global producer and exporter of food and meat products. The bilateral trade volume between China and Argentina in 2023 reached $17.4 billion, with China emerging as Argentina's second-largest trading partner. Notably, over 75 percent of Argentina's beef exports are directed to China, underscoring China's status as the primary destination for Argentina's meat exports worldwide.
