The journey of Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai has been marked by remarkable achievements in opening-up, scientific innovation, and the creation of specialized economic zones and modern urban spaces over the past four years.

In fact, the area is now well-known in China as a hub for youth.

"Lin-gang is not just a slogan, but a crucial principle shaping the city's trajectory," said Chen Jinshan, secretary of the Party working committee of Lin-gang Special Area. Since its inception, the concept of being "people-oriented" has been central to urban development. A core focus has been on attracting young talent.

A key aspect of this strategy involves providing a platform for the successful career development of young individuals. By enhancing basic education facilities and creating opportunities for quality education, Lin-gang seeks to provide a wholesome environment for the younger generation. Collaboration with Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Pudong New Area has led to innovative projects such as the upcoming Shanghai Dishui Lake School, a 12-year boarding school that is set to begin construction next year.

Additionally, Lin-gang places great emphasis on sports and leisure activities to enrich the lives of its young residents. Presently, Lin-gang boasts a diverse educational service system comprising 57 schools and kindergartens catering to various levels of education.

Yang Zhenfeng, deputy director of the Municipal Education Commission, has expressed strong support for Lin-gang's educational reforms and said the area aims to create a high-quality education hub that attracts exceptional talent. The integration of industry and education, as well as industry and the city, remains a core focus for Lin-gang's continued growth.
