Barany Society Meeting holds first meeting in China
The 33rd Barany Society Meeting was held in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area from Oct 15 to 18, bringing together global experts and scholars to exchange insights on the latest research and clinical advances in neurotology and vestibular medicine.
The Barany Society is an international, interdisciplinary society for neurotology, vestibular medicine, and vestibular research. It holds regular international scientific meetings every two years, each in a different city chosen by members.

For the first time in its history, the Barany Society Meeting was held in China, recognizing the country's growing international influence in the field. This year's event also coincided with the 150th anniversary of Robert Barany's birth and the 90th anniversary of his death.
As a landmark gathering, it provided a valuable opportunity for the global scientific community to strengthen East-West exchanges and collaboration. More than 1,000 otoneurologists, audiologists, vestibular specialists, and early-career researchers from around the world gathered to explore fundamental vestibular research, innovative clinical diagnostics, novel treatments, and rehabilitation strategies.
