The Life Science Blue Bay Innovation Camp recently wrapped up in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area, offering more than 30 students from 21 countries, including Germany, Brazil, and Russia, firsthand experience of China's biomedical sector.

As the third phase of the 2026 Seed Future Lin-gang program, the camp brought together Chinese and international students from universities such as Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Tongji University for site visits, sharing sessions by industrial leaders, an innovation challenge, and cultural exchanges.

During their tour of Life Science Blue Bay and Shanghai HeartCare Medical Technology Co Ltd, they learned about how Chinese medical devices make the journey from clinical practice to the market. At Zero Cube, they explored how policy and service support for one-person companies is opening up new possibilities for entrepreneurship. 

Two sharing sessions by senior executives from Duality Biotherapeutics and the Lin-gang Medical Device Innovation Center offered complementary perspectives on biomedical innovation — one rooted in scientific strategy, the other in entrepreneurial practice.

The camp's highlight was an innovation challenge in which Chinese and international participants from different academic backgrounds teamed up to tackle real-world problems in the biomedical industry. Through technical feasibility assessments, cross-border compliance research, and roadshows, they brought diverse perspectives together to turn ideas into practical solutions.

A team led by Colombian participant Héctor Fabio Calero won the competition with Ease Stress, an AI agent that can help reduce workplace stress by optimizing workflows and task allocation.
