The manufacturing facility of Liebherr Aerospace Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd broke ground in Lin-gang Special Area on July 30. It is set to support the localized production of landing gear for China's domestically developed passenger jet C919.

Located in the third phase of the Large Aircraft Industrial Park, the plant will have a floor area of 16,000 square meters. It adopts the single-story steel structure design with a span of 30 meters and a height of 18.3 meters, providing ample space for the production and assembly of large aviation components.

The Shanghai facility marks an important expansion of Liebherr's global production network. It will focus on the precision manufacturing and processing of the high-strength steel structural components of aircraft landing gear, including outer cylinders and piston rods, while offering advanced surface treatment services. 

Its establishment will further accelerate the clustering of upstream and downstream companies across the aircraft supply chain in Lin-gang, bringing fresh momentum to Shanghai's high-end manufacturing sector.
