Boston Scientific will showcase a range of cutting-edge medical technologies designed to deliver less invasive and more precise treatments at the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will take place in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.

Highlights will include atrial fibrillation treatment, AI-assisted coronary intervention, precision internal radiation therapy for tumors, and deep brain stimulation.

These technologies point to the future of minimally invasive medicine, where catheters replace larger incisions, intravascular imaging gives physicians a clearer view of lesions, AI assists with complex measurements, and a single procedure can address multiple disease-related risks.

Since making its CIIE debut in 2019, Boston Scientific has seen 24 of its products receive approval in China after making an appearance at the expo. As its latest global innovations reach the Chinese market at a faster pace, the company has also steadily expanded its R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain capabilities in Shanghai. This progress has been underpinned by the city's business-friendly environment. 

During the construction of Boston Scientific's Lin-gang plant, customs authorities streamlined clearance procedures, reducing the import lead time for certain raw materials from three to four months to just one month. Drug regulators also enhanced coordination between product registration testing and quality system inspections through early engagement and regulatory guidance.
