Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area has unveiled Lin Yao Tong, a dedicated service brand for the biomedical industry, during a working conference of its Biomedical Registration Guidance Service Station.

As part of the initiative, the Lin Yao Tong Service Standards Manual V1.0 was released to outline the standard operating procedures, including a first-contact responsibility system and time-bound case handling. 

A user guide for an innovative medical device information collection system was also issued, providing step-by-step online submission instructions and outlining key requirements to help companies complete applications more accurately and efficiently.

Moreover, a registration liaison officer program was rolled out, assembling dedicated task forces to provide tailored support for key enterprises throughout the registration process, from pre-submission guidance and policy consultation to cross-department coordination.

As one of Shanghai's first 12 service stations for biomedical product registration guidance, the Lin-gang workstation has provided end-to-end support to companies over the past five years, guiding them from R&D through market approval. 

Its efforts have delivered remarkable results. As of now, more than 200 medical device registration certificates and manufacturing licenses have been granted to local companies. 

The high-quality service has accelerated the clustering of Lin-gang's biomedical industry, attracting leading domestic and international companies such as AstraZeneca, Medtronic, Junshi Biosciences, and Novo Nordisk. The area accounts for around 40 percent of Shanghai's newly added biomedical projects.
