Cross-Strait AI development spotlighted at 2026 WAIC
The Lin-gang Special Area Administrative Committee hosted a series of events to spotlight cross-Strait AI development along with the Cross-Strait Economic and Sci-tech Cooperation Center during the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC).
A forum on July 18 brought together around 150 government officials, experts, scholars, and corporate representatives to advance integrated AI development and collaborative innovation between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. Discussions focused on AI applications in advanced manufacturing and healthcare.

Meanwhile, an exhibition was held from July 17 to 20 to showcase cross-Strait AI achievements. More than 20 Taiwan enterprises, including MediaTek, ASE, and Inventec, displayed their latest innovations in AI chips, servers, manufacturing, intelligent driving, smart sports, and metaverse applications.

The newly established cross-Strait digital intelligence integrated innovation center in Lin-gang was also highlighted at the exhibition, along with its preferential policies to promote industrial integration between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
