Symposium explores Lin-gang's offshore economic development

A symposium was held on June 30 to discuss the high-quality development of the offshore economy, with a focus on the innovative practices and experience of Lin-gang Special Area in advancing the sector.

Yi Xiaozhun, former vice-minister of commerce and former deputy director-general of the World Trade Organization, shared his insights on Lin-gang's efforts to develop the offshore economy amid China's high-level opening-up.

Wang Xinkui, director-general of the Shanghai Institute of Open Economy (Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center), offered his perspectives on the development of the offshore economy in the context of deepening global economic integration.

Other experts and enterprise representatives also exchanged views on topics such as promoting offshore economic growth through deeper integration of industry, academia, and scientific research, as well as stronger financial support.

The Dishui Lake Offshore Economy Research Center of the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics unveiled a plaque at the symposium. It is expected to deepen integration between academia and industry, align policy reform with market needs, and foster multidisciplinary talent and new development models.
