Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area is accelerating the global expansion of Chinese companies through efficient policy support and integrated services that enable firms to scale their operations overseas quickly.

Since its establishment, Lin-gang has played a crucial role in facilitating the international growth of Chinese companies. To date, it has recorded 520 non-financial outbound direct investment (ODI) projects, amounting to $8.2 billion.

An example of such is Shanghai Conant Optical Co Ltd, a global leader in lens manufacturing that was established in Lin-gang. The company completed its expansion into Southeast Asia within just seven months thanks to Lin-gang's integrated service system.

To improve resource allocation, Lin-gang launched its Going Global Comprehensive Service Platform in June 2024. The platform has already completed its initial development phases and has provided services more than 3,000 times through its physical service center. It has also set up 49 branches nationwide and formed partnerships with over 80 overseas institutions, forming a service network that integrates domestic resources and connects with global markets.

Located in Dishui Lake Financial Bay, the Lin-gang international service center now hosts 38 key service providers and outbound-oriented enterprises. It has built a 10-minute service ecosystem that enables efficient matching between supply and demand, offering high-efficiency support for companies expanding overseas.

Such support has helped companies like Shanghai Xiangzhe Intelligent Technology Co Ltd., founded in Lin-gang in 2020, which chose Indonesia as its first overseas market and has launched its own brand, Metori, in the local home appliance sector, with plans to expand further across Southeast Asia.
