Efforts to deepen industry-education integration in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area advanced on April 8, as the construction of the Lin-gang joint university science and technology park was launched.

The park adopts an innovative "multi-university, one park, shared development" model. Located in the Lin-gang Special Area Marine Innovation Park, it is planned to cover about 24,500 square meters. It will serve as a core innovation hub by clustering space, projects and policy support.

It is designed to address the key challenges of slow commercialization of university research, low graduate retention in Lin-gang, and limited sharing of university resources.

The park will operate under a "government-led, university-collaborative, professionally managed" model. Projects entering the park must have university affiliations and must follow tailored support policies and standardized incubation services provided by the science and technology stations. A full life-cycle project management system will be introduced, alongside a professional operations team.

The first batch of buildings is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, with an official opening and tenant move-in scheduled for August.
