Lin-gang to anchor efficient, end-to-end iron ore logistics chain
Baowu Resources Port & Shipping (Shanghai) Co Ltd signed a cooperation agreement with the Lin-gang Special Area Administration on April 8 to establish operations in Lin-gang, aiming to build a low-cost, highly efficient end-to-end iron ore logistics supply chain.

The company plans to make steady investments in the construction of ocean-going and dual-purpose vessels capable of serving both domestic and international trade routes, in a bid to support the transportation of overseas mineral resources, including supplies originating from Simandou. By the end of 2030, it has set a target of annual transportation and port throughput volumes exceeding 100 million metric tons in each category.
The company operates multiple ocean-going and coastal shipping subsidiaries, with a controlled fleet of 7.1 million deadweight tons in ocean shipping and 850,000 deadweight tons in coastal and river shipping.
It has built a competitive "three pools, three ports" integrated framework. The "three ports" network connects overseas ports such as Maribaya Port in Guinea with domestic hubs, as well as river ports serving steel mills along the Yangtze River. This network transforms ports from traditional cargo-handling facilities into supply chain logistics anchors, multimodal transport hubs, and data centers, forming a global logistics backbone.
The "three pools" component integrates ocean-going, coastal, and inland river shipping capacity, creating a flexible and efficient fleet network that spans main international routes, domestic secondary transport, and last-mile river delivery.
Moving forward, the company will accelerate the development of a globally connected logistics and supply chain system in Lin-gang.
