Shanghai's Lin-gang is emerging as a launchpad for solo entrepreneurs, with its One Person Company (OPC) community Zero Cube offering an integrated innovation ecosystem to accelerate business growth.

Among the first entrepreneurs to join the community in October 2025, Liang Ruiping has seen his company become a leader in a niche segment of the Japanese market.

Before moving in, Liang spent eight to nine hours pricing and selecting products for his cross-border e-commerce business. With AI tools provided by the OPC community, that workload has been significantly reduced.

Since opening, the community has attracted around 150 projects, with about 500 people now based in the building. In addition to offering AI tools, the community is introducing leading firms to help OPCs integrate more quickly into local industrial supply chains.

Companies are exempt from rent for the first three years and have access to free talent apartments for one year. In their fourth and fifth years, they can rent office space at half price while continuing to receive housing subsidies.

The community is not just attracting OPCs. Chen Lixin, whose company had already built a client base of 3,400 in exhibition-related intelligent marketing, also chose to set up operations in the community.

Chen said the community connects companies with resources they would otherwise struggle to access. Thanks to the large number of OPCs and a strong openness to AI applications, his company's products can also empower the community.

Zero Cube is also bringing in leading enterprises and encouraging collaboration between upstream and downstream enterprises. Companies can share products and ideas through community events, creating synergies within the building.
