Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area has launched its AI-powered film and television production platform and global expansion base, highlighting its efforts to upgrade the digital culture industry and advance the integration of technology and the humanities.

Launched on Feb 5, the platform is located at the Oriental Pearl Digital Film and Television Production Base in Lin-gang and focuses on technology-driven production and global expansion services.

On the technology front, the platform focuses on strengthening its AI and ultra-high-definition technologies. For global expansion, it leverages Lin-gang's open business environment to provide end-to-end services, helping digital cultural products reach global markets.

Two new initiatives were unveiled at the launch ceremony. An AI-powered youth film and micro-drama research and practice base was introduced to help emerging filmmakers turn ideas into productions. A set of recommended film shooting locations in Shanghai was also released, highlighting Lin-gang's smart buildings, ecological landscapes, and scenery showing signs of innovation as attractive filming backdrops.

An international editors' forum was also launched, which is expected to connect resources from editors' associations in 36 countries and key networks in the film and television industry.

Meanwhile, Lin-gang's Wisdom Library, in partnership with East China Normal University, plans to host eight high-quality thematic sessions featuring top domestic scholars. The sessions will focus on ethical challenges, governance approaches, and humanistic reflections in AI development.

This marks an important step in Lin-gang's efforts to deepen its digital culture industry. Looking ahead, Lin-gang plans to further strengthen its related industry clusters and integrate resources to attract more high-quality enterprises and top talent.
