Dell establishes remanufacturing distribution hub in Lin-gang Special Area
Dell Technologies will establish a remanufactured product distribution center in the Yangshan Free Trade Zone in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area, leveraging policy innovations introduced by the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
The move, approved by the Ministry of Commerce of China, expands the list of remanufactured products eligible for import into the zone to include specific color LCD monitors.
By relocating its consumer product distribution operations from Singapore to Lin-gang, Dell aims to consolidate its regional supply chain and attract maintenance, repair, and remanufacturing businesses back from Southeast Asia. The Lin-gang facility will serve as an international hub integrating distribution and green remanufacturing, optimizing global procurement and logistics services.
Dell plans to leverage Lin-gang's geographical and institutional advantages to create a sustainable "Dell Lin-gang Base", improving economic efficiency and strengthening environmental responsibility. The initiative not only supports Dell's business expansion in Shanghai but also provides a replicable model for institutional openness within China's free trade zones.
