An agreement was signed by the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, Beijing Singauto Technology Co Ltd, and the Lingang Group on May 8, marking the official establishment of Singauto's China headquarters and a knock-down (KD) manufacturing and export base for new energy commercial vehicle components in Lin-gang.

The project will focus on the R&D and manufacturing of key components for new energy smart logistics vehicles, delivery vehicles, and refrigerated vehicles, aiming to establish a globally leading KD factory and operational monitoring platform, while also injecting strong momentum into Lin-gang Special Area's efforts to become a core components KD base for Chinese automotive companies venturing overseas.

Lin-gang Special Area boasts many unique advantages as a strategic hub for global KD operations:

Efficient port logistics: Leveraging the interconnected operations of Yangshan Deep-Water Port and Nangang Terminal, Lin-gang possesses the world's largest container throughput port network, providing high-level shipping services for automotive exports.

Comprehensive bonded policies: Full-chain services including "bonded R&D + bonded processing + bonded warehousing" in Lin-gang, combined with pilot programs for cross-border trade facilitation, enable enterprises to enjoy benefits such as temporary exemption from import component tariffs and instant processing of export tax refunds.

Seamless industrial ecosystem integration: Lin-gang has already gathered over 200 new energy vehicle companies and supporting enterprises, including Tesla, SAIC Motor, and CATL, forming a complete industrial chain from batteries, electric drives to vehicle manufacturing. This enables rapid response to the localization needs of KD factories.

Singauto's project will further reinforce Lin-gang Special Area's strategic positioning as a crucial node for global KD operations, accelerating the construction of a hub for global KD business, where domestic automotive companies can efficiently export core components in KD form to overseas markets, leveraging local assembly to reduce tariffs, while international ones can rely on bonded zone policies to utilize China's component supply chain in Lin-gang for customized KD assembly and cutting-edge mass production applications.
