A delegation led by Chen Jinshan, director of the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, visited Italy from April 10 to 12 to promote investment cooperation with Italian enterprises, universities, and associations engaged in design and innovation.

At Politecnico di Milano, Italy's largest science-technology university, Chen held discussions with representatives from the CISE School, the Italian Industrial Design Association (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale), and a number of enterprises in the sector, focusing on the establishment of Italian design enterprises and cultivation of design talent in Lin-gang.

While visiting the Istituto Europeo di Design, Chen and the host discussed plans to establish a design institute and training program aimed at providing globally aligned design education for China.

During his trip to the Smeg, which has been designing innovative everyday household appliances since 1948, Chen talked with company executives about establishing facilities for research and development, production, exhibition, sales, logistics distribution, and bonded maintenance in Lin-gang. They also explored leveraging events like the China International Import Expo and China International Consumer Products Expo to enhance the company's influence in the Chinese market.

Chen also attended the signing ceremony between Shanghai Lin-gang Science and Technology Venture Capital and Redstone. Both parties pledged to promote the establishment of European technology companies' headquarters, production facilities, and research centers in Lin-gang.
