Lin-gang Special Area releases cross-border healthcare development plan

The Lin-gang Special Area of Shanghai unveiled its cross-border healthcare development plan on March 31.

At the launch ceremony, the cooperation agreements of the first batch of cross-border medical projects were signed. They included cooperation related to medical institutions, cross-border medical services, cross-border medical insurance and settlement, and cross-border medical education.

The agreements involve a range of medical service institutions and hospitals in fields such as traditional Chinese medicine, dentistry, psychology, and medical insurance and medical education.

The cross-border healthcare development plan outlines 12 tasks related to promoting the aggregation of high-level medical service resources, facilitating the free flow of cross-border medical services, and promoting world-class medical services.

A special task force dedicated to advancing cross-border medical services in Lin-gang Special Area was established to ensure coordinated efforts and the prompt resolution of relevant matters.

Efforts will be made to pioneer innovative breakthroughs in cross-border medical services in Lin-gang Special Area and formulate specific policies to incentivize and guide the development of the sector.

During the event, a cross-border medical service center and a medical device import and export service center were officially inaugurated.

The move signifies Lin-gang Special Area's efforts to deepen opening-up in the life sciences sector, with the experimental field of cross-border medical innovation and development setting sail in the special area.
