Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai witnessed a promising start to 2025 with agreements for a batch of major projects worth 42.8 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) being signed on Feb 20.

A total of 41 enterprises inked agreements to establish a presence in Lin-gang Special Area. These projects span cutting-edge fields such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, aerospace, the low-altitude economy, the data economy, high-end equipment, smart vehicles, international trade, and new energy. This influx of investment is poised to accelerate Lin-gang's industrial agglomeration.

Of particular note is that China Telecom will invest 25 billion yuan in the development of a new information park in Lin-gang Specia Area. Spanning approximately 300,000 square meters, it will feature a supercomputing center capable of supporting the training of trillion-parameter large-scale models. Together with companies such as SenseTime, China Unicom, and UCloud, it will form a diversified supply system centered around intelligent computing power and complemented by basic and supercomputing power. This park will synergize with the integrated circuit industrial cluster in Lin-gang, accelerating the adoption of smart, domestic computing chips.

Since its establishment in 2019, Lin-gang Special Area has leveraged its strong institutions, openness, and innovation capabilities to continuously optimize its business environment and foster the development of enterprises. To date, agreements for over 600 projects in the area have been signed, with total investment exceeding 600 billion yuan.
