Shanghai's 'one-stop online service' streamlines business operations
At the bustling construction site of Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area, significant progress is witnessed daily by Lu Xiyou, the general manager of a corporate management company. Reflecting on the early days of entrepreneurship when the area was barren and undeveloped, he now sees a skyline dominated by towering buildings.
On his mobile phone, a notification pops up as Shanghai's "one-stop online service" platform indicates that a business deregistration application he submitted a day earlier has passed pre-checks. Within 10 working days, his client's business information will be automatically deregistered after completion of public notice.
"In the past, handling certificates and paperwork was like running a 'marathon', but now it's 'one-stop', greatly enhancing efficiency," said Lu, whose company provides certificate processing services for businesses.
When he started his business eight years ago, Lu spent nearly every day in government offices. Nowadays, his visits to government offices have decreased, and the number of companies his team serves has increased significantly.
In 2018, Shanghai initiated the establishment of the "one-stop online service" platform. Soon after, multiple procedures were made available for online processing. Now, 90 percent of businesses can be fully processed online.
Since its establishment in 2019, the Lin-gang Special Area has achieved an average annual GDP growth rate of 19.8 percent.
"The 'one-stop online service' platform has transformed certificate processing from cumbersome procedures to efficient integration, facilitating business development and driving the development of Lin-gang," Lu said.
