The 2024 Shanghai Civil Aviation Industry Development Conference was held in the city's Lin-gang Special Area on Oct 16.

During the event, agreements on 15 key projects in the civil aviation industry valuing more than 26 billion yuan ($3.7 billion) were signed, covering core areas such as aircraft structures, composite materials, and onboard systems.

Chen Jinshan, director of the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, attended the meeting along with He Dongfeng, chairman of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).

Addressing the conference, Chen said that Shanghai and the Lin-gang Special Area have always regarded serving the development of large aircraft as an important mission and the advancement of the civil aviation industry as a crucial task.

Lin-gang will closely collaborate with COMAC to accelerate opening-up and innovation with greater efforts in order to build a globally influential civil aviation industry cluster within its area, he said.

He Dongfeng highlighted at the event that COMAC will cooperate with global suppliers and partners to shape the large aircraft industry ecosystem, build a world-class aerospace industry cluster in Lin-gang, and share new opportunities in the development of large aircraft.

Cooperation agreements on jointly promoting the development of the large aircraft industry are signed by the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, COMAC, Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co Ltd, and Lingang Group at the conference. [Photo/WeChat ID: shlgguanweihui]
