The 2024 Shanghai International Consumer Electronics Show, also known as Tech G, was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from Oct 10 to 12. The Lin-gang Special Area made a strong appearance at the exhibition, occupying a booth area of 558 square meters.

The Lin-gang booth was jointly set up by seven local enterprises and four development entities, covering fields such as intelligent robots, smart car operating systems, XR eyewear optical modules, automotive software, electronic equipment, and smart city construction.

A promotional event themed "Invest in Lin-gang" unfolded at the exhibition, witnessing the signing of agreements for four projects to land in the special area. The event was held to enhance Lin-gang's influence and competitiveness in sectors such as advanced displays, artificial intelligence (AI), automotive electronics, and intelligent robots. It also served to further promote the region's industries and facilitate supply-demand connections among local enterprises.

Over the past five years, Lin-gang's AI and other industries have grown rapidly. The output value of industrial enterprises each with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.83 million) or more increased by 34.6 percent annually, amounting to 433.3 billion yuan by 2023.

Lin-gang will continue to develop its distinctive AI industry, expand the influence of the AI Innovation Port, and further promote the clustering of the industry in the main urban area. The overall goals for the industry's development in the area by 2025 include achieving manufacturing and producer services scales exceeding 20 billion yuan each, gathering 300 AI enterprises and 10,000 related talents, and establishing the Dishui Lake AI Innovation Port as a new hub for Shanghai's AI industry and an important cluster for the national industry.
