Shanghai launches integrated service platform for intl container transport
To tackle the challenge of data sharing, an international container transport service platform known as JiYun MaaS was launched in Shanghai on Sept 10.
The system has facilitated near-real-time tracking and data queries for 18 nodes in the export process and 14 nodes in the import process of international container transport. It has established a cross-regional sea-rail intermodal logistics information network covering nine provinces and 40 cities.
Shippers, shipping companies, port operators, logistics enterprises, and government regulatory departments can access vital information such as ship movements, port operations, cargo status, rail-water intermodal transport, dangerous goods packaging points, and more through the JiYun MaaS website (www.tmaas.com.cn) or by downloading the JiYun MaaS app.
"Diverse intermodal transport modes including railways, roads, and sea transport used to require multiple platform registrations for logistics information. Now, we aggregate information from various links in the logistics chain, uniting them by container to enable a one-stop query. Users can clearly see the business processes of container imports and exports, and access real-time information on container locations," remarked Zou Ying from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co Ltd.
JiYun MaaS also features a paperless customs clearance system, reducing the process from 1-2 days to 3-4 minutes.
According to Zou, the platform is already connected to 12 container terminals of Shanghai International Port Group and information from over 320 international shipping routes. Future plans include expanding the scope of data connectivity to serve the Yangtze River Delta region and stimulate the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
