Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area Administration, Pachammer, and Shanghai Harbour City Development (Group) Co Ltd signed a cooperation agreement on May 6.

Cross-border e-commerce service provider Pachammer – a Shenzhen city-based global operator facilitating the expansion of Chinese manufacturing overseas – is on the move.

Plans are for it to establish its cross-border supply chain headquarters in the Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai.

The aim is to create a global hub for cross-border digital trade, investing 500 million yuan ($69.21 million) over five years and to create at least 1,000 jobs.

The initial phase will be at Shanghai Harbour City Development Group's premises – Hubintiandi, involving the hiring of 150 research and development personnel.

Pachammer operates a platform connecting tens of thousands of cross-border supply chain factories and digital trade sellers globally.

With operations spanning over 140 countries, the company manages the entire cross-border digital trade process – including procurements, platforms and payments – offering a comprehensive service for Chinese manufacturers expanding abroad.

Lin-gang, with its location and policy advantages, is said to offer a strong foundation for cross-border e-commerce. Plans are for the Dishui Lake AI Innovation Hub in Lin-gang to serve as a crucial platform for domestic businesses to expand internationally.
