Some 33 projects, with a combined investment of around 14.6 billion yuan ($2.05 billion), were launched at a groundbreaking ceremony for key projects in the Lin-gang Special Area – located in East China's Shanghai –on Jan 16.

The projects span various key sectors such as industry, housing, commerce and infrastructure.

The ceremony had as its main venue Shanghai's Jin'gang Zhi'Ao Park, as well as two satellite venues for the Lin-gang Sci-Tech 2.0 project and the Y4 Road (Lingang Avenue to Dongda Highway) construction project.

The Jin'gang Zhi'Ao Park project, costing 1.97 billion yuan, aims to boost the development of the artificial intelligence industry in Lin-gang. It seeks to create an innovative zone and to attract top companies through collaboration with the Jinqiao Group and local businesses.

The Lin-gang Sci-Tech 2.0 project, costing 1.9 billion yuan, focuses on research and development, contributing to Lin-gang's technology incubation. It involves the reconstruction and expansion of the park, providing a space for high-tech enterprises.

The Y4 Road project, costing 580 million yuan, aims to optimize the internal transportation network in the new area – promoting daily convenience, industrial growth and enhancing the overall urban road system.
