The World Laureates Association (WLA) recently unveiled its artificial intelligence laboratory in Lin-gang Special Area, which is set to open in early 2024.
Situated in the heart of the WLA Science Community, the lab is adjacent to Mobius Park in the west and the Xialian River in the south. Covering about 47,000 square meters, the lab's experimental building includes a 7-story sci-tech building and a 1-story underground garage.
The 430-million-yuan ($59.4 million) building, shaped like a computer chip, is positioned to the east of Scientific Park, with a podium serving as its base and a square tower as the chip volume. The facade features a gridded and pixelated design, and the embossed stainless steel frame creates a visually striking effect.
On the roof, diverse desert plants like cactus, aloe, and Welwitschia form an exclusive green leisure area powered by solar energy. The lab incorporates over 1,330 sq m of photovoltaic panels and 2,000 sq m of green roofs.
The lab is aimed at transforming the Lin-gang Special Area into a cutting-edge, low-carbon, and sustainable future city.
