Multiple civil aviation projects based in Lin-gang Special Area
An increasing number of projects supporting the civil aviation industry have been established in the Lin-gang Special Area, Shanghai, as part of the area's efforts to strengthen the sector's industrial chain and build a world-class civil aviation cluster.
Since its launch in October 2020, the Large Aircraft Industrial Park of Lin-gang Special Area has gathered a group of key domestic and foreign enterprises, including Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (COMAC), China National Building Materials Group Co Ltd (CNBM), and Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Co Ltd, integrating aircraft, engines, core components, key materials and high-end equipment into a cohesive industrial landscape.
China's self-developed C919 aircraft has entered a new stage of large-scale development, which has brought unprecedented opportunities for the development of civil aviation industry in Lin-gang Special Area, said Wei Guoxian from the Lin-gang Special Area Administration. Wei added that the 2024 Shanghai Civil Aviation Industry Development Conference will be held in Lin-gang Special Area soon.
Lin-gang plans to achieve a target of civil aviation industry output value exceeding 40 billion yuan ($5.6 billion) by the end of 2026. It aims to introduce at least 100 core suppliers and backbone enterprises with their businesses in the four core areas of aircraft structures, composite materials, engines, and airborne systems.
