International Hydrogen Valley – an industrial hydrogen park located in the Lin-gang Special Area of East China's Shanghai – was officially opened on Sept 28, as a core carrier to promote the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy sector there.

The park – relying on the institutional innovations of Lin-gang and the advantages of the hydrogen energy scene – is committed to promoting the development of the entire industrial supply chain of hydrogen energy production, storage, transportation and use.

With a planning area in the first phase of 1.55 square kilometers, it has attracted more than 20 hydrogen companies.

Twenty-one hydrogen projects, with an investment of nearly 8.5 billion yuan ($1.28 billion), signed up to settle in the park on the opening day. They cover such fields as hydrogen production equipment, fuel cell core materials, key components, research and development, as well as the testing of functional platforms.

In addition, the Lin-gang Special Area also released its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for the hydrogen fuel vehicle industry, in addition to 18 measures to support hydrogen industry development.
