COSCO Shipping Ferry Co, a member of China's State-owned Cosco Shipping Group, recently registered a wholly-owned subsidiary to develop the ro-ro shipping business in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area.

Once the new company, Shanghai Shun Long Ro-ro Cargo Shipping Co, puts its ro-ro vessels into operation the layout of the automobile logistics industry will be further optimized, the ro-ro ship transportation system will be improved, and an example of accelerating the construction of a global shipping hub in Lin-gang will be set.

COSCO Shipping Ferry Co provides professional services for the maritime transport of passengers and vehicles in various coastal ports in China, and plays a major role in national economic development and maritime transport.

The company has 10 large luxury passenger vessels, including the Ji Long Dao, Xiang Long Dao, Yong Xing Dao, and Long Xing Dao.

It also owns two large ro-ro cargo ships, Shun Long Hai and Chang Long Hai. These ships mainly operate the routes from Northeast China's Liaoning province to East China's Shandong province, such as Dalian to Yantai, Dalian to Weihai, and Yingkou to Weifang.

The Lin-gang Special Area has been promoting high-level opening-up. A group of shipping companies, including COSCO Shipping, Denmark's Maersk Group, Chipolbrok, and CMA CGM Shipping Co, an influential French enterprise, have settled there.

It has become an important channel for multinational ventures in ship transportation, ship management, ship brokerage, ship inspection, maritime service, seafarer assignment, shipping finance, and shipping insurance which can better utilize the resources and explore markets all over the world.
