The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off in Shanghai on Nov 5 and will run until Nov 10. Global innovative medical technology leader Boston Scientific, a repeat CIIE exhibitor, made its appearance at the Medical Equipment & Healthcare Products exhibition area of this year's expo.

Across a 600-square-meter exhibition stand, Boston Scientific exhibited over 80 cutting-edge medical technologies and products, spanning the fields of cardiology, peripheral vascular, oncology, urology, gastroenterology, and neuromodulation.

At this year's CIIE, Boston Scientific's new-generation intravascular ultrasound system, AVVIGO+ MAH, made its debut in China. As the latest result of the company's local research and production, the product will be pre-launched at the expo. A system for endoscopic sleeve gastrectomy also premiered at the event.

Since its first participation in 2019, Boston Scientific has accelerated the introduction and localization of its innovative products, with 21 innovations transitioning from exhibits to commodities. Nine previously exhibited innovations have been approved to be marketed in China since the last edition ended.

In recent years, Boston Scientific has accelerated the introduction of innovative products into China, maintaining double-digit growth in the country. This reinforces its confidence in investing in the Chinese market, leveraging China's vast market to strengthen the industry chain through production and research and development.

Last month, Boston Scientific inaugurated its first manufacturing base in China in the Lin-gang Special Area, Shanghai. As a crucial part of the company's localization strategy, the factory in Lin-gang focuses on the production of medical consumables and equipment, enabling Boston Scientific to achieve local production in China and better cater to local needs.
