The Lin-gang Special Area Administration and China COSCO Shipping Group inked a strategic cooperation memorandum on June 7, signaling their commitment to foster deeper collaboration in the maritime industry.

The partnership will see both parties foster innovative practices in shipping, promote eco-friendly and low-carbon transformations, embrace digitalization and intelligent solutions, and enhance coordination in the shipping service sector.

The partnership is also expected to facilitate the integration of the Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN) blockchain platform using the information management services offered by the Lin-gang Special Area. This integration will expand the application of digitalization and establish a robust ecosystem and platform for digital shipping services.

The two sides will also take steps to nurture new and advanced forms of shipping service enterprises and create a high-level cluster of shipping services.

Several high-level shipping service companies such as Shanghai Shunlong Roll-On Roll-Off Shipping Co Ltd and China COSCO Shipping Green Intelligent Vessel Services Co Ltd will also be set up as part of the partnership.
