Shanghai's first fueling robot was recently installed and tested at the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Guzong Road Integrated Transportation Energy Station in the Lin-gang Special Area.

This advanced robot, co-developed by CNPC's Kunlun Digital Technology Co Ltd and Hangzhou Helios Innovation Intelligent Technology Co Ltd, features the CNPC 3.0 fueling station system and offers comprehensive refueling services for 92, 95, and CN98 gasoline.

Customers can book refueling services via their smartphones, and the robot will autonomously handle the entire process: opening the fuel tank, identifying and selecting the appropriate nozzle, fueling the vehicle, and securely closing the tank. This seamless operation has drawn significant attention from social media influencers and bloggers. The addition of this smart robot effectively acts as an extra "fueling attendant", alleviating staffing shortages during peak hours and providing customers with a cutting-edge technological experience.

According to Xue Kexin, deputy general manager of CNPC Ganghui branch, the fueling robot boasts unique advantages over human attendants. The robot strictly adheres to fueling protocols, eliminating the risk of refueling errors, nozzle mishandling, and forgotten payments or intentional non-payment issues.

The Guzong Road Integrated Transportation Energy Station, which opened in October 2023, operates 24/7 and sells nearly 30 metric tons of gasoline daily. The station also features fully automated battery swapping services for passenger cars, self-service charging bays, and an automated car wash. Since March of this year, CNPC has further enhanced the station's smart capabilities by introducing robot refueling and an unmanned convenience store, elevating the station's level of intelligent service.
