East China Normal University (ECNU) inaugurated its Dishui Lake International Software Engineering Institute at the Dishui Lake conference center in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area on June 18.

Located in the Dishui Lake AI Innovation Hub, the institute is set to focus on talent cultivation and research driven by national strategies and industry frontiers. It aims to become a leading base for software talent development and innovation.

Chu Junhao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, was appointed as the chairman of the institute's academic committee. Representatives from leading companies in aerospace, integrated circuits, and smart vehicles, along with academic experts, joined as committee members. They will guide the institute's development and ensure its alignment with the institute's educational, technological, and talent goals.

The event also saw the launch of the Lingang Industry-Education Integration Platform for Industrial Software. ECNU, Shanghai Harbour City Development (Group) Co Ltd, and key industry players like COMAC Shanghai Aviation Industrial (Group) Co Ltd will collaborate to foster software talent and technological innovation.

The exemplary software academy alliance key software technology innovation platform was also introduced on the same day. Supported by the Ministry of Education and several Shanghai municipal departments, this platform will showcase representative software technologies and offer supports in product promotion, achievement incubation and social resource investment. .

Ten key software products from leading universities, including ECNU, Peking University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, were also showcased at the event. These products address critical challenges in major national projects and have achieved significant market success.

Dishui Lake AI Innovation Hub, with nearly 200 AI enterprises that employ about 6,000 R&D personnel, aims to be a hub for software talent and innovation. The hub will support the institute's international education initiatives and industry growth, contributing to Shanghai's goal of becoming a software powerhouse.
