SAIC AI Lab unveils advanced autonomous driving tech in Lin-gang

SAIC AI Lab revealed its latest self-developed autonomous driving technology during a conference on Aug 25 that celebrated the company's one year anniversary in the Lin-gang Special Area, Shanghai.

This advanced architecture integrates a variety of sensors to provide a comprehensive 360-degree view around the vehicle. A fusion perception scheme has also been implemented to identify obstacles and spaces, thus enhancing the system's adaptability. Additionally, a remote control system has been developed to guarantee passenger safety.

During the event, SAIC AI Lab initiated the public testing phase of their autonomous vehicles and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area Jinjiang Transport Co Ltd. The agreement will see both sides collaborate on matters related to the intelligent connected vehicle sector.

Since its inception in Lin-gang a year ago, SAIC AI Lab has expanded its operational reach, secured legislated autonomous vehicle testing licenses and established a partnership with Jinjiang Group to pioneer intelligent connected rental operations. The company's Robotaxi fleet is currently being used in the main urban area of Lin-gang.

On Aug 26, SAIC AI Lab's ride-hailing service, Xiaoke Lailou (小可来喽), was launched. Users can reserve rides for free through the WeChat mini program.
