Shanghai's Agibot has announced it will commence sending out commercial deliveries in October from its humanoid robot factory – the first of its kind in the city, situated in the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Anticipating a total delivery of up to 300 units, Jiang Qingsong, the company's vice president of marketing, revealed that the shipment will consist of 200 bipedal robots and 100 wheel-legged robots, marking a significant milestone in Shanghai's foray into advanced robotics manufacturing.
Agibot, a tech start-up that introduced its first humanoid robot, Raise A1, in August 2023, unveiled five new models designed for commercial deployment on Aug 18. These models include the Raise A2, Raise A2-W, Raise A2-Max, Lingxi X1, and Lingxi X1-W.
The company's advancements in power, perception, communication, and control capacities have propelled their humanoid robots to the forefront of innovation, said co-founder Peng Zhihui. Recent noteworthy upgrades include a new joint module, known as PowerFlow, and the enhanced dexterity in hand movements. . Equipped with additional cutting-edge technology such as RGB-D cameras, LiDAR, panoramic cameras, and self-developed SLAM algorithms for perception, Agibot's humanoid robots boast a robust AimRT communication framework. A hybrid control system combining model-based and learning-based algorithms also allow for enhanced motion and adaptability, Peng added.
In a move to standardize the measurement of embodied intelligence, Agibot introduced a scale ranging from G1 to G5, a pioneering effort in the industry aimed at guiding and enhancing product research and development.
Furthermore, Agibot has committed to open-sourcing products like AimRT, design materials, and coding for its Lingxi X1, along with a vast dataset comprising millions of real-world entries and simulated entries. This strategic decision signals a new era of accessibility and collaboration in humanoid robotics, according to Peng.
Established in February 2023 within the supportive ecosystem of the Lin-gang Special Area, Agibot has thrived with the backing of the local government, which has provided an ideal environment for experimental interactive scenarios, as noted by Jiang.
