Shanghai Minhang United Development Co Ltd (SMUDC) Lingang Industrial Park, a leading semiconductor industrial park in the Lin-gang Special Area, launched its integrated circuit industry alliance on Oct 20.

The alliance currently has 20 member companies and institutions that are looking to leverage the advantages of the industrial park to promote cooperation and share resources. Seven company representatives of the alliance were conferred certificates at the event.

Cui Xiaowei, chairman of Verisilicon Microelectronics Shanghai, shared stories of the company's journey in SMUDC Lingang Industrial Park and the current situation, opportunities, and demands of China's semiconductor equipment industry.

"The company's industrial base, which will be put into use next month, places us at an internationally advanced level. It focuses on the R&D and industrialization of high-capacity adhesive developer and chemical cleaning equipment, targeting high-end process technology nodes," said Cui.

Five guest speakers from government, financial institutions, and upstream and downstream enterprises discussed the situation, collaboration opportunities and prospects of Lin-gang's integrated circuit industry, and provided guidance on how it should strengthen, extend and shore up weak links of its industrial chain.

The Lin-gang Special Area currently has 265 IC companies with projects worth more than 260 billion yuan ($35.53 billion) and fixed asset investments of approximately 150 billion yuan. The area is aiming to nurture domestic key component enterprises through policy support, partnerships and industrial chain building.
